Stephen David Harman, age 69, of Dorcas, WV passed away Saturday, August 3, 2019 in Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA.
Mr. Harman was born May 15, 1950 in Petersburg, WV and was a son of the late Ellsworth Harman and Neva Lucille ( Hinkle) Harman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by two brothers, Tommy Harman and Stanley Harman and one sister, Bonnie Berry.
Steve is survived by his wife Shirley (Grapes) Harman; three daughters, Betty Trautman of Moorefield, WV, Shirley Henry of Maysville, WV and Theresa Southerly of Petersburg, WV; two sons, Roy Shears of Cabins, WV and Fred Shears Petersburg, WV; sixteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; four brothers, Boyd “Bud” Harman and Bobby Harman, both of Sugar Grove, WV, Larry Harman of Baker, WV and Harold Harman of Maryland.
Steve served in the United States Army and was a member of American Legion Post 78. He was a truck driver and later worked for Allegheny Wood Products in Petersburg, WV.
Family will receive friends Tuesday 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Craig Howard Officiating. Burial will be in North Fork Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors by the Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard.
