Nola Susan (Wimer) Lambert, age 92 of Maysville, WV passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Grant Rehabilitation & Care Center in Petersburg.
She was born October 3, 1926 in Maysville, WV and was a daughter of the late Floyd Wimer and Zernie (Bible) Wimer. In addition to her parents, Nola was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Lambert Jr. on July 26, 2007; six brothers, Virgil Wimer, John Wimer, Harmon Wimer, Woodrow Wimer, Arthur Wimer and infant Emory Wimer; two sisters, Mary McDonald and Dorothy Wimer. Nola was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Nola is survived by one daughter, Juanita “Slick” Haslacker and husband Steve of Maysville, WV; two sons, David A. Lambert of Maysville, WV and Melvin Lambert III and wife Tonya of Maysville, WV; nine grandchildren, Zebulinne Haslacker, Rhett Haslacker, Chad Lambert, Sandy Rivera, Ross Lambert, Nathan Lambert, Douglas Lambert, Angela Moyers and Startisha Keplinger; fifteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Nola was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed working on the family farm. She was a homemaker for many families. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and especially crocheting for her family these past years. She was a lifetime member of Potomac Highlands VFW Post 6454 Ladies Auxiliary.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg. A funeral will follow at 2 PM Sunday, February 24, 2019 at the Schaeffer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Vetter officiating. Burial will be in Mt Hebron Cemetery, Maysville, WV.
