Naomi Ruth (Hedrick) Phares Goldizen, age 76, of Cabins, WV passed away Sunday, September 1, 2019 at Grant Memorial Hospital with her loving family by her side.
She was born September 27, 1942 in Jordan Run, West Virginia. She was a daughter of the late Carl Wayne Hedrick and Bessie Jane (Getz) Hedrick. In addition to her parents, Naomi was preceded in death by her first husband of 30 years, Alfred J. Phares in 1990; twin baby boys, son, Bradley Phares; four sisters and two brothers.
Naomi is survived by her husband of 23 years, Riley Goldizen; one daughter, Connie Bobo and husband Lysle of Maysville, WV; two sons, Timothy Phares and significant other Catherine Flinn of Maysville, WV and Shannon Phares and significant other, Robin Dolly of Maysville, WV; special daughter-in-law, Sheila Phares of Maysville, WV; brother, Robert Hedrick; sister, Patricia Hedrick Judy. Also surviving ten grandchildren: Tyson Bobo and wife Samantha, Tyrell Bobo and wife Cassidee, Travis Phares, Tiffany Phares, Samatha Goldizen and husband Anthony, Tyler Phares and wife Kaitlyn, Heather Phares and fiancé Jason Moneymaker, Logan Phares and wife Megan; Kendra Jenkins and husband Gavin, Brooklyn Phares; nine great grandchildren.
Naomi was a graduate of Petersburg High School Class of 1960. She was employed by the former HP Store in Petersburg as a clerk/ manager for 19 years. She also worked for 3 different contractors at Mt. Storm Power Station as a timekeeper.
Naomi enjoyed sewing, gardening, baking, canning and farming to benefit her love of fresh cows milk, cottage cheese, butter and eggs. She attended Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church. She enjoyed making holiday or special occasion meals for her family. She truly loved her family with all her heart.
Family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Schaeffer Funeral Home with the Rev. Lynn Rohrbaugh officiating. Burial will be in the Ours/ Goldizen Cemetery on Corner Road, Cabins, WV.
