Eloise Michael Haslacker Bible, age 92 of Scherr, WV went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at the Grant County Rehabilitation and Care Center. She was the daughter of Roy D. and Wreatha Buckbee Michael. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Warren T. Haslacker; two sisters, Clarene Rogers and Maywood Dolly; and one brother Eldon Dale Michael.
Surviving is: her husband Marvin Bible of Scherr; three daughters, Carolyn (Bruce) Stevens of Petersburg; Arlyce (Ron) Woodward of Inwood ; Donna (Roger)Hollon of Berea, KY; one son, Darrell (Betty) Haslacker of Harrisonburg, VA; and two step-children, Eugene ( Becky) Bible of Scherr ; and Suzie (Richard) Barger of Scherr.
Eloise was fun loving, committed grandmother to ten grandchildren for whom she created and staffed “ Grandma’s Summer Camp” each summer as her way of bonding with grandchildren from multiple states and encouraging relationship within the grandchild group. She was proud of numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She primarily showed that love through the sharing her picture albums with everyone who would take the time to look.
Eloise was an active and faithful member of the Harmony Baptist her entire adult life serving in many capacities. She was the quintessential country woman who loved her farm, farm animals and everything out-of-doors. She was active in community activities like Homemakers Club, 4-H Club, Grant County Election Board and school functions. Eloise supported herself as a professional furniture upholsterer and a part -time US Census Taker, both of which bought her much joy.
Family will receive friends Thursday, June 6, 2019 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.
Funeral service will be Friday at 1:00 PM at Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Crislip and Rev. Dr. Bruce Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in Maysville Cemetery.
