Dorothy Louise Harman, age 85 of Maysville, WV, departed this life to be in her Heavenly Father’s arms on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 in her home.

She was born September 14, 1934 in Kessel, WV and was the daughter of the late Cecil W. Smith and Clara (Pratt) Smith. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Elaine Harman in 1994; son-in-law, James F. Western in 2015; two sisters, Eloise Smith Hines and Dora Smith Watts; two brothers-in-law, Minor Watts and Robert Kreiser. One sister-in-law, Cecilia Smith. 

Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had a strong passion for baking and her love for taking care of flowers. She lived life with a unconditional love for others.  She was a joy and inspiration to all who knew her.  She attended Moorefield High School and Love Church in Moorefield, WV. 

 Dorothy is survived by her husband of nearly 65 years, Lynn D. Harman of Maysville, WV.

Twelve Grandchildren, Kevin Mongold, Laramie Harman, Jonathan Mongold, Jenny Harman, Lindsey (Western) Porter, Bethany (Mongold) Stump, Casey Western, Miranda Mongold, Danielle (Ketterman) Mayle, Micah Western, Jalyn Western and Ian Harman.

Thirteen Great Grandchildren.

Five brothers, Marshall Smith, Rev. Kenneth (Bonnie) Smith, both of Winchester, VA, Hieskell (Betty) Smith of Moorefield, WV, Evers (Diane) Smith of Petersburg, WV and James (Nancy) Smith of Friendly, WV; three sisters, Orpha Cowgill of Petersburg, WV, Carmelita Kreiser of Fairbanks, Alaska and Juanita (Robert) Trichel of Bossier City, LA and numerous nieces and nephews.  

Friends and relatives will be received Saturday, January 11, 2020 from 9:30 – 10:30 AM at Love Church, 200 Loves Way, Moorefield, WV 26836. 

Funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM at Love Church with Bishop Edward Murray, Pastor DixieLee Murray and Pastor Elisha Okoromoba officiating.  Interment will be in South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens in Petersburg, WV. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to her great grandson, Carson Stump, c/o Bethany Stump, 190 General Drive, Lahmansville, WV.
