Doris L. (Keplinger) George

Doris Lee (Keplinger) George, age 71, of Moorefield, WV passed away on Monday, December 2, 2019 at her home.

Doris was born March 1,1948 in Petersburg, WV and was a daughter of the late Virgil Ray Keplinger and Alice Louvine (Lilly) Keplinger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Winfred Milton “Wimp” George and a granddaughter Jurnee Elizabeth Cullers.

Doris is survived by two daughters, Jackie E. Cullers of Moorefield, WV and Jodi George and friend Chris Ketterman of Moorefield, WV;  Eight grandchildren, Jade, Jevon, Dominic, Hunter, Brookelyn, Jackson, Jakeline and Jenerose; four great grandchildren, Araya, Ashtynn, Ezrah and Estel; one sister, Naomi Pearl Keplinger of Burlington, WV; one brother, Raymond Keplinger of Moorefield, WV and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Doris graduated from Petersburg High School in 1966 and retired in 2004 from Rockingham Poultry in Moorefield, WV.  She was a member of Oak Dale Christian Church. Doris and her late husband had a ministry of blessing folks by sending cheerful cards at their time of need. She enjoyed visits from her family and friends.    

Funeral service will be Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg with the Rev. Lynn Rohrbaugh and Pastor Wade Armentrout officiating.  Family will receive friends from 12 Noon till time of service at 2.  Burial will be in Newhouse Cemetery, Rig, WV.
