Charles Turner, Obituary

CHARLES J. TURNER SR.            Charles Junior Turner, Sr. age 82 of Maysville, WV died Friday, November 19, 2010 at his home.        He was born March 6, 1928 in Onego, WV and was the son of the late Charles Andrew Turner and Pearlie Dorothy (Helmick) Turner.        He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Rae (Jestes) Turner on August 11, 2007; one son, Roger Lee Turner, two sisters, Ruth Long and Elva Flynn; eight brothers: Ted, Clarence, Omar, Abraham, Raymond, Robert, Edward and infant Arthur Turner.        Mr. Turner graduated from Circleville High School and was a West Virginia State Police Officer in Cass, WV. He retired from Taylor Manor Hospital in Ellicott City, Maryland. He and his wife had owned and operated Bushwhacker Lawn and Landscaping in Charles Town, WV.         He is survived by six sons: Danny Turner of Pasadena, MD                                                  Charles Larry Turner of Baltimore, MD                                                  Rev. Charles Allen Turner of Baltimore, MD                                                   Kenneth Dwayne Turner of Burlington, WV                                                  Ralph Hensley of Winchester, VA                                                  Charles J. "C.J." Turner, Jr. of Maysville, WV   Four daughters: Joyce Gress of Cabins, WV                                Teresa "Terry" Causer of Shepherdstown, WV                                  Sharon Lisa Poland of Cabins, WV                                Kimberly Burris of Winchester, VA   19 Grandchildren and several great grandchildren   One sister: Lora Rebecca Long of Cabins, WV   Family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg, WV.   Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Brother Dayton Lewis and sons, Rev. Charles Allen Turner and C.J. Turner officiating.   Interment in the Long Family Cemetery, Cabins, WV   Memorials may be made to the Grant Memorial Hospital, P.O. Box 1019, Petersburg, WV 26847.
