Charles Ervin “Charlie” Moyers, Sr. age 80 of Cabins, WV went to his Heavenly Home on Thursday, October 3, 2019.
He was born March 11, 1939 in Cave, WV and was the son of the late Lee Moyers and Judith (Mullenax) Moyers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by three sisters, Sally Moyers, Rosalie Moyers and Ada Virginia Moyers Simpson; three brothers, Glen Moyers, Melvin Eugene “Boss” Moyers and Bobby Lee Moyers.
Charles is survived by his wife Judith A. (Kindt) Moyers
Four sons –
Jerry L. (Kathy) Moyers of North Canton, Ohio
Charles E. Moyers, Jr. of Newark, DE
Tim W. (Pat) Moyers of Wilmington, DE
Chuck T. (Elaine) Bailey of Ridley Park, PA
Ten grandchildren
One sister, Dorothy Marie Moyers Nelson of Riverton, WV
Mr. Moyers went to school in Pendleton County. He later moved to Pennsylvania and lived in Boothwyn, PA until his retirement in 2001. He and his wife then moved to Cabins, West Virginia.
Mr. Moyers was a member of Teamster Local Union 312 and retired from M & M Restaurant Supply. He was a member of Living Hope Baptist Church in Petersburg where he served as head usher and on the building committee. He was a member of the Grant County Historical Society. He volunteered at Grant Rehabilitation Center and Senior Center. He loved to square dance and attend Blue Grass Festivals.
Family will receive friends Sunday, October 6, 2019 from 7 – 9 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.
Additional visitation will be Monday from 10 – 11 AM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 11 AM with Pastor Matt Smith and Pastor Mark McAllister officiating. Interment will follow in North Fork Memorial Cemetery, Riverton, WV.
