Charles Lee “Bud” Miller, age 83, of Upper Tract, WV passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019 at his home.   He was born on April 12, 1935 in Mozer, WV and was the son of the late Roy Washington Miller and Lillian (Calhoun) Miller.  In addition to his parents, “Bud” was preceded in death by one sister, Lynn Westfall and daughter-in-law, Kathy Miller.

“Bud” served in the United States Army.  He was a life member of the Potomac Highlands VFW Post 6454, American Legion Post 30 in Franklin, WV and member of the Disabled American Veterans.  He was employed by Allied Egry for several years.  He was a mechanic for Petersburg Motor Company for several years and later owned and operated Miller’s Garage in Upper Tract, WV.  "Bud" was a member of Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church. 

“Bud” is survived by two sons, Wilson L. Miller and wife Nancy of Upper Tract, WV and Greg W. Miller of Jacksonville, Florida; three grandchildren, Cody and Levi Miller and Heather Laverty; one step grandson, Christopher Foster and three step grandchildren;  one great grandson, Lane Laverty; former wife, Phyllis Miller of Petersburg, WV;  three sisters, Charlotte Miller of Upper Tract, WV, Sue Knott of Bridgewater, VA and Shirley Riggleman of Mt Crawford, VA; one brother, Roland Miller of Petersburg, WV and several nieces and nephews. 

Friends will be received from 5:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.  Funeral service will begin at 11 AM Friday February 22, 2019 at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with the Rev. David Webb and Rev. Stanley Kile officiating.

Burial will be in the Kline Cemetery at Upper Tract, WV with military honors by the Petersburg VFW Post 6454 and West Virginia Army Honor Guard. 

Memorial donations may be made to Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church, c/o Tony Calhoun, 72 Ridge Road, Upper Tract, WV  26866.
