Burlin M. Shirk

Burlin Shirk, age 79, of Cabins, WV passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at his home.   He was born on February 13, 1939 in Smoke Hole, WV and was the son of the late Charles Edward Shirk and Amanda Ellen (Kimble) Shirk.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmie Shirk and infant Roger Dale Shirk;  two sisters, Rhoda Creamer and Betty Jane Shirk.

Burlin is survived by his wife of 49 years,  Belinda (Shreve) Shirk; one daughter, Pamela Shirk; two brothers, Bryson Shirk of Dorcas,  WV and John Shirk of Arthur, WV; five half  brothers, Olie Shirk  of Moorefield, WV, Edward “Jack” Shirk of Upper Tract, WV; Carl Shirk  of Upper Tract, WV, Dale Shirk of Franklin,  WV,  David Shirk of Dorcas, WV and several nieces and nephews. 

Burlin enjoyed hunting and fishing.  

Friends will be received from 3:00 – 5:00 PM Friday, December 28, 2018 at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.  Graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at  10:00 AM at the Shirk Family Cemetery with Bishop Richard Whetzel officiating.  Burial will be in the Shirk Family Cemetery, Smoke Hole, WV.
