Andrew Goldizen

Andrew “Andy” Goldizen, age 75 of Cabins, WV passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV.

He was born July 10, 1943 at Cabins, WV and was a son of the late Andy and Jennie (Ours) Goldizen.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Goldizen was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Goldizen and two sisters, Caroline Carr and Pauline Ours. 

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gloria (VanMeter) Goldizen, two sons, Jeff Goldizen and wife Debbie of Bridgeport, WV and Bryon Goldizen and wife Stephanie of Cabins, WV; one daughter, Melissa Davey and significant other, Justin Stickley of Bunker Hill, WV; three grandsons, Jacob Goldizen of Bridgeport, WV, Bryon Alan and Andrew Goldizen of Cabins, WV; five granddaughters, Katie Goldizen of Fairmont, WV, Jasmin and Olivia Goldizen of Bridgeport, WV, Kaelie Davey of Martinsburg, WV and Anna Goldizen of Cabins, WV;  two brothers, Riley Goldizen and John Goldizen of Cabins, WV and one sister, Cora Hinkle of Bridgewater, VA. 

Mr. Goldizen was a logger by trade and owned and operated Andrew Goldizen Logging and Excavating until his illness.  Andy was a loving, supportive and giving husband, father, grandfather and friend.  He enjoyed the outdoors and hunting. 

 Family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be held Monday 11 :00 AM,  March 4, 2019,  at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny Goldizen officiating.  Interment will be in South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens, Petersburg, WV.
