Rocky Kendall Barnes, age 26 of Petersburg, WV went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, March 11, 2024 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA after a brief illness.
Rocky was the son of Rocky Allen Barnes II of Scranton, PA and the late April Dawn Wills.
In addition to his father, Rocky is survived by his Maternal grandmother, Shirley M. Wills of Petersburg, WV; Paternal grandmother, Darlene Cook of Moorefield, WV and Paternal grandfather, Rocky A. Barnes Sr. of Augusta, WV and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Rocky attended Petersburg High School and later earned his GED, demonstrating his perseverance and commitment to personal growth. Kendall worked for Walmart in Moorefield, WV and later he moved to Weirton, WV and worked in Retail Sales at Pittsburgh International Airport. Rocky moved back to Petersburg in December 2023 and recently was employed by Car Quest in Petersburg.
Rocky found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as attending concerts, watching scary movies and immersing himself in the virtual worlds of gaming. His love for cooking allowed him to express his creativity and thoughtfulness. He enjoyed playing his guitar. Rocky dedicated a significant part of his heart and home to caring for his beloved cats, Rona and Penny. Rocky will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 11 AM at Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg with Pastor Glenn H. Vance, Jr. officiating. Rocky’s family will receive friends from 10 AM till time of service.
