William Sheaffer Obituary

William A. (Bill) Sheaffer, age 55, of Micanopy, Florida and formerly of Petersburg, WV passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2016 in Micanopy, Florida while under hospice care.

He was born January 28, 1960 in Petersburg, WV and was the son of Reba (Harper) Sheaffer of Petersburg, WV and the late William B. Sheaffer. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two sisters and a step sister.

Bill is survived by his mother, Reba Sheaffer of Petersburg, WV, his wife, Carol (Sweeney) Sheaffer of Micanopy, Florida, one sister, one brother-in-law, one nephew, three nieces and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Bill was a graduate of Petersburg High School, Potomac State College and Virginia Tech. He received a Masters degree from Iowa State. After graduation he worked for the State of Florida as a Fisheries Biologist.

At his request, Bill's body was cremated. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grove Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Hakes officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Forest Meadows Funeral Home and Crematory in Gainesville, Florida.
