William Alt Obituary
William Arthur "Bill" Alt, age 85, of Petersburg, WV passed away Saturday at the Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center.
He was born November 2, 1930 in Landes, WV and was the son of the late Henry Arthur Alt and Bessie Goldie (Martney) Alt.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Denver Alt; 2 half brothers, Emory Alt and Eldon Alt; one sister, Pearl Brakeiron and half sister, Arvella Kimble; brother-in-law, Ronald I. Brill.
Bill served in the United States Marine Corps. He was partners for Alt & Alt Contractors in Petersburg, WV until his retirement. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Bill is survived by one daughter, Tina A. Liong of Stephens City, VA; one grandson, William Ryan Liong; one brother, Delmar Alt and wife Frances of Petersburg, WV; half brother, Earl Alt of Petersburg, WV; one sister, Mary Brill of Petersburg, WV, sister-in-law, Edna Alt of Petersburg, WV.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.
Funeral service will be Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 11 a. m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry M. Cantu officiating.
Interment will be in the Lahmansville Cemetery with military rites by the Petersburg VFW Post 6454 and United States Marine Corps.
The family suggest that memorial donations be made to the Safe Harbor Program at Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center, 127 Early Avenue, Petersburg, WV 26847.
