Wayne Secrist Obituary
Wayne Morlin Secrist, age 83, of Harpers Ferry, WV passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Shenandoah Rehabitation Center in Charles Town, WV.
He was born March 20, 1931 in Forman, WV and was a son of the late Gordon Dayton Secrist and Ruby Alma (Coler) Secrist.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Arlie Secrist and Jim Secrist.
Mr. Secrist was a heavy equipment operator for S. P. Jones Excavating in Leesburg, VA and retired from Ricky L. Brown Excavating Company, Culpeper, VA.
He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Hall Town, WV.
Mr. Secrist is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dixie (Veach) Secrist; three sons, Gordon Secrist of Harpers Ferry, WV, Gregory Secrist of Bunker Hill, WV and Matthew Secrist of Harpers Ferry, WV; eight grandchildren, Jonathan Secrist, Josh Secrist, Timmy Secrist, Shari Secrist, Nickie Secrist, Travis Secrist, Madeline Secrist and Zachry Secrist; three great grandchildren, Joshua Secrist, Chloe Secrist and Noah Secrist; two sisters, Josephine Keplinger and Kathleen Mowry, both of Petersburg, WV and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be Monday, January 19, 2015 at 2 p.m. in the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg with Pastor Scott Truman and Pastor Ted Anderson officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
Burial will be in the Lahmansville Cemetery at Lahmansville, WV.
