Sherrie LaPointe Obituary

Sherrie Ann (Epply) LaPointe, age 73, of Petersburg, WV passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, June 11, 2018 after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer.

Sherrie will be forever remembered by her daughters, Kim Reilly and Tammy LaPenta, both of Tolland, Connecticut, and her sons, Kevin LaPointe and Jason LaPointe, both of East Hartford, Connecticut. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, her brother, Spencer Epply of Elkins, West Virginia and her sister, June E. Coco of Clearwater, Florida as well as many nieces and nephews and many friends. Sherrie also leaves behind her dear and best friend, Mary Bergdoll, with whom she resided. Mary cared for her selflessly through the end; and Sherrie's family will be forever grateful.

Sherrie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert LaPointe, her parents, Norman and Eileen (Campbell) Epply, her brothers George and Norman Epply and her sister, Sandra Tolin.

Sherrie was born in Paterson, New Jersey and raised in New Richmond, Ohio. She graduated from New Richmond High School in 1965. As a young woman, Sherrie moved to Connecticut, where she was married and raised her family, until she moved in 1998 and ultimately settled in West Virginia. She was a dedicated employee at the Park Motel for many years, and worked for Pilgrim's Pride, as a caregiver for Panhandle support, before she got sick. She was baptized in the First Baptist Church and attended the Living Hope Church in Petersburg. Sherrie cared deeply about her family and friends, and she will be remembered as a generous and trusting woman with a youthful heart and spirit.

Upon Sherrie's request, although those who loved her will be together in her memory, a memorial service will not be held.
