Robert O'Neill "Bob" Kemp, age 75, of Petersburg, WV passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA.
Bob was born in Mountain Lake Park, MD on November 7, 1938 to the late William Harrison and Nina Gladys (Dugger) Kemp.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jaime Redmon; four brothers, Gordon Kemp, George Kemp, Lawrence Kemp and James Kemp; two sisters, Wilda Smith and Dorothea Raskin.

Bob is survived by his wife, Carol Kemp; his children, Lynne Redmon of Moorefield, WV and Dr. Elizabeth A. Kemp of Birmingham, AL; Christopher R. Kemp and Adam A. Kemp, both of New Orleans, LA; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one sister, Kathleen Kelch of Wooster, Ohio; two brothers, Ray Kemp of Purgitsville, WV and Richard Kemp of Canton, GA.

Bob spent his adult life in retail sales in the southeastern United States, most of the time with the Kresge/K-Mart Corporation. He served in the United States Army Reserves during the Viet Nam Era. He was a member of the MaIn Street United Methodist Church in Petersburg.

In 1987 he suffered a massive heart attack. The result was the blessing of receiving a heart transplant on October 14, 1994 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA. This blessing lasted until the time of his death after contracting lung cancer.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the Valley View Golf Course, 4638 U.S. Highway 220 South, Moorefield, WV 26836.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Valley View Golf Association Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 61, Attention, Tim Harwood, Moorefield, WV 26836.
