Reba Sheaffer Obituary
Reba Elaine (Harper) Sheaffer, age 88, of Petersburg, WV died Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.
She was born July 1, 1928 in Cave, West Virginia and was a daughter of the late Frederick Harvey Harper and Elsie (Propst) Harper.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Sheaffer on May 23, 1989; two daughters Judy (Sheaffer) Vandernoot and Diane (Sheaffer) Allen; her son, William A. Sheaffer; her step daughter, Betty Ann Leonard; her brother, Kelly Harper; two sisters, Madaline Waybright and Rebecca Blagg.
Mrs. Sheaffer was a graduate of Franklin High School, Class of 1946. She was a member of Grove Street United Methodist Church in Petersburg. She also was a member of the United Methodist Women and received the Valiant Woman's Award in 2011.
Reba is survived by one daughter, Barbara (Sheaffer) Soule of Georgia, Vermont; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; two sisters, Donna Windle of Edinburg, VA and Joann Hiner of Charlottesville, VA; three brothers, Norman Harper of Dayton, VA, Steven Harper of Sugar Grove, WV and Gary Harper of Harrisonburg, VA.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Grove Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry A. Hakes officiating.
Family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Petersburg, WV.
