Ralph Snell Obituary
Ralph Edmund "Eddie" Snell, age 80 of Petersburg, WV passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014 at his home.
He was born May 25, 1933 in Petersburg, WV and was a son of the late Ralph H. Snell and Dorothy L. (Northrup) Snell.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Belle (Wilkerson) Snell on April 21, 1999 and two brothers, John Jeffrey Snell on June 5, 1985 and Joseph Michael Snell on August 23, 2002.
Mr. Snell served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Snell was a shop stewart for the teamster union in Grand Island, NY. He was a member of Cowelsville Baptist Church and a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in Cowelsville, NY. He was past president of Grant County Farm Bureau. He was a passionate lifelong cattle farmer. He was much loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends who benefited from his generous and considerate nature.
Surviving are two sons, TimothyE. Snell and wife Ruth of Beavercreek, Ohio; Daniel F. Snell and wife Teresa of Berkeley Springs, WV and daughter, Victoria Snell Kautz and husband Karl Kautz of Poughkeepsie, NY; three grandchildren, Analise Kautz, Hayden Kautz and Rachael Snell; three step grandchildren, Tara Shirk, Israel Perlov and Jered Perlov; three sisters, Paige Snell Alexander and husband Joe Alexander; Anne Snell Kopple and husband Henry Kopple and Patricia Snell all of Petersburg, WV.
A memorial service will be Friday, April 18, 2014 at 4 p.m. at the Bible Baptist Church, 642 Frosty Hollow Road, Fisher, WV with Pastor Doyle A. Patch officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Bible Baptist Church, 642 Frosty Hollow Road, Fisher, WV 26818.
