Paul "Babe" Goldizen

Paul Martin "Babe" Goldizen, age 97, of Jordan Run, WV died Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the home of his daughter, Naomi Keplinger in Petersburg.
Born October 6, 1917 in Jordan Run, WV, he was a son of the late Gabriel Goldizen and Bertha (Barger) Goldizen.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Velma J. (Berg) Goldizen on March 22, 2001; three brothers, Luther "Butch" Goldizen, Julius "Sam" Goldizen and Arno "Peck" Goldizen; one sister, Norma Jean (Goldizen) Smith; and son-in-law, E. Bruce Keplinger.

"Babe' was a carpenter and timberman. He retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways. He was a member of the Riverside Church at Cabins, WV and also North Fork Ruritan Club.

Surviving are two sons, Rev. D. Paul Goldizen and wife, Ruth of Petersburg, WV and E. Eugene "Gene" Berg and wife, Linda of Maysville, WV who was raised by the Goldizen family; twin daughters, Orpha Pennington and husband, Roy of Dry Fork, WV and Naomi Keplinger of Petersburg, WV; fifteen grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 26 great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Arbutus Daniels of Petersburg, WV and Nadine Jordan of Baltimore, MD; and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends Friday, August 28, 2015 from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Riverside Church located off Routes 55/28 on Dolly Town Road, Cabins, WV with Pastor Tommy George officiating. Interment will follow at the Maysville Cemetery, Maysville, WV 26833.
