Martha Louise "Martie" Alt

Martha Louise "Martie" Alt, age 64, of Petersburg, WV passed away Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Winchester Medical Center.

She was born August 21, 1950 in Keyser, WV. She is a daughter of Dora (Kyle) Wilson of Westernport, MD and the late John Warden Wilson Sr.

She was preceded in death by her father and an infant son, Brian Heath Alt.

Martie graduated in 1968 from Bruce High School, Westernport, MD. She worked for the former Sites Restaurant and Bonds Jewelry in Petersburg. In 1985 Martie began working as a bank teller for the Potomac Valley Bank until the closing in 2002 and continued working for Summit Community Bank until 2012.

She was a member of the Bethel Church of the Brethren and the Potomac Highlands Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 6454.

Martie is survived by her husband of 44 years, Douglas W. Alt, one son, Christopher "Chris" W. Alt and wife Amber and two grandsons, Blake and Dylan Alt all of Maysville, WV; two brothers, Fred Wilson and wife, Mildred of Corona, CA and John W. "Turk" Wilson Jr. and wife, Kitty of Keyser, WV; one sister, Barbara Moore and husband, Francis of Stafford, VA and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be Saturday 11 a.m. (Sept. 13, 2014) at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Rotruck officiating. Interment will be in the Alt Family Cemetery, Landes, WV.
