Lloyd Warren Kimble, age 92, of 2566 Old Scherr Road, New Creek, WV 26743 passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Grant Memorial Hospital.
He was born September 2, 1921 in Petersburg, WV and was a son of the late Clarence Edward and Amanda Jane Kimble.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vauda ( Hanlin) Kimble on Nov. 11, 1996; two sisters, Leatrice Kimble Mauzy and infant Dorothy Kimble; four brothers, Earl Kimble, infants, Orville, Wendell and Kermit Kimble. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Mr. Kimble is survived by one daughter, Naomi J. Kimble of Scherr, WV; one son, Grant E. Kimble of Scherr, WV; four nieces, Ellen Thompson of Petersburg, WV, Debbie Method of Romney, WV; Joy Mallow of Cabins, WV and Ruby Hoy of Staunton, VA.
Mr. Kimble was a lifelong farmer. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II and a life member of the Potomac Highlands VFW Post 6454. He was a member of the Oak Dale Church of the Brethren.
Family will receive friends on Friday 6-9 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held at the Oak Dale Church of the Brethren on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Bernard officiating.
Interment will be in the Maysville Cemetery with Military Honors by the Petersburg VFW Post 6454 and the West Virginia Army Honor Guard.
