Konnie Burgess Sampsell

Konnie Jean (Burgess) Sampsell, age 47, of 664 Burgess Hollow Road, Petersburg, WV passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at her residence.
She was born January 26, 1968 in Petersburg, WV and was the daughter of James O. and Linda R. (Riggleman) Burgess of Petersburg, WV.
An infant son, Sean Robert Sampsell preceded her in death; Also preceding her in death were her paternal grandparents, Tracy and Viola (Reel) Burgess and maternal grandparents, Brook and Eveline (Newhouse) Riggleman.

Konnie graduated from Petersburg High School in 1986. She worked for Hester Industries in Moorefield, WV from 1986-1992. She was a volunteer at Each's Head Start and also she worked at the South Branch Inn in Moorefield, WV. She was a member of the Memorial Church of the Brethren in Petersburg.

Konnie is survived by her parents, Jim and Linda Burgess of Petersburg, WV; two daughters, Chelsea B. Sampsell and Kasey V. Sampsell both of Petersburg, WV; former husband, Robert Sampsell of Moorefield, WV; a grandson who is expected in December; three brothers, Kevin Burgess and wife, Janet of Havelock, NC; Kendall Burgess and wife, Theresa of Petersburg, WV and Kenric Burgess and wife, Beverly of Rustburg, VA; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family will receive friends Saturday, August 22, 2015 from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Cullers and Rev. Scott Fawley officiating. Inurnment will be private at a later date.
