Juanita "Nita" Belle Mullenax, age 78, of 6600 Franklin Pike, Petersburg, WV went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Winchester Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
She was born January 30, 1938 on Turkey Knob, Grant County, WV, and was the daughter of the late Rumsey R. Borror and Mary (Keplinger) Borror Stonestreet.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant brother, Junior Wayne Borror and one sister, Wanda Stump Kesner.
Juanita graduated from Petersburg High School in 1956 and was a State social worker for over 35 years. She was a member of the Landes Ruritan Club for 23 years and served as secretary for several years. She also was Ruritan District Secretary for 20 years. She was a member of Landes CEOS for 59 years. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church where she served as Sunday school teacher and secretary of the Ladies Aid for several years. She was a Grant Com Dispatcher for 14 years and an EMT for Grant County Ambulance Service. She was a member of the Grant Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, VFW Post 6454 Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion Post 78 Ladies Auxilary. She served on the Grant County History Book Committee. In 2009 she was voted Mother of the Year for the Pendleton/Grant charge of the United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Roy H. Mullenax; one son, Edward D. Mullenax and wife Tracey; two daughters, Sheri R. Miller and Becky E. Mullenax, all of Petersburg, WV; five grandchildren, Jared D. Miller and wife Amber of Keyser, WV; Derek S. Miller of Petersburg, James E. Mullenax and wife Courtney of Ft. Ashby, WV; Justin M. Mullenax and Janell K. Mullenax, both of Petersburg, WV; one great grandson, Paxton Miller; three sisters, Betty Jean Kesner and Alma Williams, both of Petersburg, WV and Sandy Riggleman of Moorefield, WV; two brothers, Paul Borror and Rick Stonestreet, both of Petersburg, WV and several nieces and nephews.
Juanita's request was to be cremated. Her family will receive friends and family on Thursday from 1-3 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at St. John's United Methodist Church, 3389 Franklin Pike, Petersburg, WV.
A Celebration of Life Service will be Friday, July 29, 2016, at 11 a.m. at St. John's United Methodist Church with Pastor Gary Reed and Juanita's son, Eddie Mullenax officiating.
