Irene Gaiter Obituary
Irene Mae Gaiter, age 89, of Petersburg, WV passed away Friday, June 13, 2014 at the Grant County Nursing Home.
She was born July 27, 1924 in Petersburg, WV and was a daughter of the late Kenneth Seymere Redman and Louella (Patch) Redman Beckwith.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John N. Gaiter on April 21, 1994; three sisters, Lillian Redman, Judith Ann "Molly" Redman and Leota "Doll" Redman; and three brothers, Jobe Redman, and two infants.
Mrs. Gaiter was a member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Petersburg.
She is survived by one daughter, Angela Gaiter Smith of Petersburg, WV; two grandchildren, Van Jr. and Brittany and six great grandchildren; two brothers, Pastor Calvin S. Redman of Petersburg, WV and King "Bud" Beckwith of Moorefield, WV; two sisters, Lola Gates of Cumberland, MD and Carol Jean "Baby Doll" Campbell of Keyser, WV; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Winnie Beckwith and a host of friends.
Funeral service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Petersburg with Pastor Calvin S. Redman officiating.
Family will receive friends at the Church on Sunday from 10 a.m until time of service at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Petersburg.
Memorials may be made to the Grant County Nursing Home, Safe Harbor Program, 127 Early Avenue, Petersburg, WV 26847.
