Helen Hartman Obituary
Helen Louise (Swick) Hartman, age 78, of Petersburg, WV passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at her home.
She was born May 25, 1938 in Petersburg, WV and was a daughter of the late Homer Lee Swick and Ordelia (Mongold) Swick.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert F. Hartman in 2008; two brothers, Jack Wayne Swick and James Homer "Jim" Swick; two sisters, Lucy Martin and Janet Williams.
Helen worked for the West Virginia Department of Highways and later retired from the Grant County Board of Education. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Petersburg.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Vickie J. (Roger J.) Lambert of Maysville, WV; two grandchildren, James R. "J.R." Lambert and Jessica L. (Randy) Simpson of Hurricane, WV, five great grandchildren, Bryson Riggleman, Carson Lambert, Klara Lambert, Wyatt Simpson and Everett Simpson; three sisters, Rose Turner of Ypsilanti, Michagan, Virginia Phillips of Petersburg, WV and Kathleen Roomsburg of Moorefield, WV; three brothers, Vernon R. "Bob" Swick of Petersburg, WV, John T. (Barbara) Swick of Moorefield, WV and Roger D. (Sharon) Swick of Petersburg, WV; several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with The Rev. Nathan Epling officiating. Interment will be in the South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens in Petersburg, WV.
Memorial contributions may be made to Charity of Choice.
