Gaynell Parsons Obituary
Gaynell Frances (Crites) Parsons, age 84, of Petersburg, WV passed away on Thursday,
May 14, 2015 at Grant Memorial Hospital.
She was born November 26, 1930 in Durgon, WV and was a daughter of the late Strite Eugene and Ida (Crites) Crites.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John William "Bill" Parsons on December 6, 1999; one daughter, Diana Gaynell Parsons on October 30, 2000; three sisters, Lola Thorne, Janie Armentrout and Melva Barr; and 5 brothers, Homer Crites, Walter Crites, William Crites, Eugene Crites and Ernest Crites.
Mrs. Parsons was a resident of the Grant County Nursing Home for nearly two years. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Betty J. (Steve) Westfall of Petersburg, WV; two sons, John William (Karen) Parsons II of Dorcas, WV and James Leonard Parsons of Dorcas, WV; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two sisters, Iona Bergdoll of Moorefield, WV and Margol Shockey of Old Fields, WV and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Sunday, May 17, 2015, from 12 Noon until 2:00 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Stump officiating. Interment will be in the Mongold Cemetery on Elkhorn Mountain, Dorcas, WV.
