Evelyn Wratchford Obituary
Evelyn Ida (Swick) Wratchford, age 93, of Petersburg, WV passed away on Monday, January 2, 2017 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.
She was born May 19, 1923 in Petersburg, WV and was the daughter of the late John Markwood Swick and Stella Susan (Iman) Swick.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Luxie Hitt Vance; one granddaughter, Jackie Vance Kirtz; three brothers, Elvin Swick, George Swick and infant Charles Swick; six sisters, Darcy Cain, Virginia Swick, Kathleen Elza, Elizabeth Philips, Irene Nelson and Leanna Crawford.
Mrs. Wratchford was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the Lighthouse Community Church. Evelyn was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Evelyn is survived by:
One son: John W. (Winnie) Hitt of Petersburg, WV
One daughter: Maxine (Neal) Messer of Port Haywood, VA
Twelve grandchildren
Several great grandchildren
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg, WV.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Rexrode officiating.
Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Petersburg, WV.
