Elizabeth Dettinburn

Elizabeth Dettinburn, age 90, of Petersburg, WV passed away Monday, August 25, 2014 at her home.
She was born November 25, 1923 in Lahmansville, WV and was a daughter of the late Clarence Newton Feaster and Eulalia Deane (Snyder) Feaster.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Harold V. Dettinburn on June 29, 2003; one sister, Helen Secrist; and one foster sister, Audrey White and one infant granddaughter, Rachel Lee.

Mrs. Dettinburn graduated from Petersburg High School Class of l941. She and her husband owned and operated Dettinburn Trucking for 40 years. She worked as a secretary in their business until they retired in 1990.
She also was a homemaker. She was a member of the Corner United Methodist Church and worked with the youth and also teaching the adult Sunday School class for many years. She directed many plays with the youth especially at Christmas. She was the choir leader and pianist for years.

She is survived by two daughters, Ronda K. Dettinburn and Charlotte D. Stonestreet and husband Ronnie all of Petersburg, WV; one son, Robert V. Dettinburn of Petersburg WV; four grandchildren, Tamara K. Sites of Lahmansville, WV, Monica D. Fortino of Keyser, WV, Robert V. Dettinburn II and Nicole Stratton both of Cumberland, MD; six great grandchildren, Lindsey Sites, Chloe and Anakin Fortino, Emma and Sarah Stratton and Rowan Sweitzer. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Family will receive friends Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be Thursday 11 a.m. (August 28, 2014) at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph Gerstell officiating.

Interment will be in the Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansville, WV
