Dixie D. Mauzy

Dixie Dale (Riggleman) Mauzy, age 82, of Winchester, VA died Friday, June 16, 2017 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA.
Mrs. Mauzy was born April 25, 1935 in Petersburg, WV and was a daughter of the late Roy G. Riggleman and Mary Susan (Simmons) Riggleman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Glenn Riggleman, Calvin Riggleman, Elvin Rigglema and Forest "Hoby" Riggleman and Roy G. Riggleman Jr.; five sisters, Nellie Weatherholt, Blanche Crites, Vista Eskridge, Mary Ellen Mauzy and Ruth Hyre.

Mrs. Mauzy was custodian of the Lighthouse Christian School in Winchester, VA for 17 years. She was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church.

Mrs. Mauzy is survived by her husband of nearly 65 years, Marvin J. Mauzy; one son, Gregory (Sharon) Mauzy of Winchester, VA; two daughters, Christine Susan (Robert) Thomas of Fredericksburg, VA and Cindy (Mike) Mayer of Carlisle, PA; seven grandchildren, Scott Thomas, Michael Mayer, Jr., Kristel Rynard, Melissa Leeper, Samantha Mauzy, Mitchell Hanks and Josephine Hanks; five great grandchildren, Wyatt Mayer, Landen Mayer, Mark Rynard, Isaiah Rynard and Hannah Rynard; her sister, Irene Iman of Petersburg, WV and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from noon till 2 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor David Martin officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Petersburg, WV.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church, 2581 Northwestern Pike, Winchester, VA 22603.
