Boyd Landis Obituary
Boyd David Landis, age 86, of Petersburg, WV died Monday, June 5, 2017 at his home.
He was born January 25, 1931 in Grant County, WV and was the son of the late Carl Dallas Landis and Susanna E. (Layton) Landis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Landis Oden and Clara Belle Landis Cosner and one brother, Carl Landis, Jr.
Boyd was a loving husband and father. He was a retired U. M. W. A. Coal Miner. He was a member of the Petersburg Church of God and attended the First Baptist Church of Petersburg, WV.
Boyd is survived by his wife of 64 years, Shirley (Carr) Landis; one son, Boyd Landis, Jr. and wife Debbie of Petersburg, WV; three grandchildren, Shelley Mongold, Shannon Coombs and Matthew Dolly; and five great grandchildren; one sister, Freda Mae Whetzel and husband Albert of Arthur, WV and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 3 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg with Pastor Rick Bergdoll officiating. Burial was in South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens, Petersburg, WV.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
