Arvella Cooper Vance

Arvella Fae (Cooper) Vance, age 81, of Seneca Rocks, WV passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA. She had been in failing health for several years and had lived at Grant Rehabilitation & Care Center in Petersburg for the past 6 months.
She was born April 20, 1935 in Seneca Rocks, WV and was a daughter of the late Perry Cooper and Dora (Champ) Cooper.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Gladys Cooper and brother-in-law, Robert Rhodes.

Mrs. Vance graduated from Circleville High School in 1952. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Brushy Run Mennonite Church at Seneca Rocks, WV. She loved buying gifts for the family, selling Tupperware and taking care of the plants. She had a strong faith in God and loved reading her Bible.

Arvella is survived by; one daughter, Janet Vance of Seneca Rocks, WV; five sons, Ronnie (Joanne) Vance of Seneca Rocks, WV, Roger ( Marcella) Vance of Winchester, VA; Donald Vance of Seneca Rocks, WV, Harvey Jr. (Karen) Vance of Beverly, WV, and Michael (Donna) Vance of Seneca Rocks, WV; thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren; two sisters, Rella Rhodes of Seneca Rocks, WV and Ethel (Ronney) Williams of Elkins, WV; three brothers, Ray H. Cooper of Seneca Rocks, WV, David W. (Judy) Cooper of Fairmont, WV and Bobby A. (Carolyn) Cooper of Petersburg, WV;

Family will receive friends Monday, January 30, 2017 from 6:00 - 9:-00 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Showalter, Pastor Tom Shaum and Pastor Ken Martin officiating. Interment will be in the Cooper-Bible Cemetery, Seneca Rocks, WV.
