Aretta Turner Obituary
. Aretta Marie Turner, age 91, of 101 Pierpont Street, Petersburg, WV passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Grant Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 24, 1923 in Kessel, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Callie H.Veach and Anna (Martin) Veach.
Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her husband, John G. Turner on October 6, 2001; one sister, Margie Victoria Veach and five brothers, Dalton Lawrence Veach, Farland Veach, Leo Calvin Veach, Ernest Lindburgh Veach and Reginald Kay Veach.
Mrs. Turner was a retired seamstress and a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Petersburg.
Mrs. Turner is survived by one son, Roger C. (Judy) Turner of Elk Run Heights, IA., one daughter, Bernadette (Pierre) Major of York, PA; 4 grandchildren, Bradley E. (Michele) Burke Jr. of Dallastown, PA, Brian Scott (Monica) Burke of York, PA., Tanya Turner of Slippery Rock, PA. and Adam Turner of York, PA; 2 step granddaughters, Melissa Russ of Ellicott City, MD and Michelle Major of Millsboro, DE; 19 great grandchildren; 3 step great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Arvella Piercy of Arlington, VA and Ann Veach of Hyannis Port, MA; one brother, Douglas (Wanda) Veach of Petersburg, WV and several nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life service will be held St. Mary's Catholic Church will be Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Giles LeVasseur officating.
Inurnment will be private in the Lahmansville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 5 Pierpont Street, Petersburg, WV 26847.
