ZOLA E. SWICK
Zola Ethel Swick, age 82, of Petersburg, WV died Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Grant Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 23, 1928 in Brushy Run, WV and was the daughter of the late Alfred Vincent Kimble and Lucinda Ellen (Self) Kimble.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Swick Sr. on November 27, 1977; two sisters, Goldie Alt and Hadiebell Kimble; two brothers, Mervin and Golden Kimble;
Several half sisters and half brothers also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Swick was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Petersburg, WV.

Two daughters: Geraldine E. Lahman and husband Keith of Petersburg, WV
Nancy E. Smith and husband Jim of Sistersville, WV
Two sons: Robert L. Swick Jr. and wife Diana of Dublin, VA
Edward V. Swick and wife Carolyn of Mendota, VA
Foster son: John A. Wichael and wife Jeanna of Moorefield, WV
13 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren
One sister: Alice Ketterman of Maysville, WV

Family will receive friends on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg, WV.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. (August 30th) at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Bishop J. Stephen Kimble officiating.
Interment will be in Kline Cemetery, Kline, WV.

JEFFERY E. MORELAND
Jeffery Earle "Jeffro" Moreland, age 48 of Lahmansville, WV died Thursday, August 26, 2010 at his home.
He was born on May 16, 1962 in Oakland, Maryland and was the son of Selma Frances (Jordan) Moreland of Oakland, Maryland and the late Roy G. Moreland. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two infant brothers, David and Joseph Moreland.
Jeff was owner of Jeff Moreland Trucking, Inc. and attended the Maysville Bible Brethren Church.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. (August 28th) at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Lynn Durbin officiating.
Interment will follow in Moreland Cemetery, (Route 50 West, George Washington Highway) Oakland, MD.

David Curtis Alt, age 53, of Petersburg, WV died Saturday, August 21, 2010 in Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV.
He was born January 20, 1957 in Newark, New Jersey and was the son of Vivan Curtis Alt of Petersburg, WV and the late Hazel (Mueller) Alt.
He was preceded in death by his mother and one sister, Lynne Alt Maschefky.
Surviving besides his father, paternal grandmother, Kate Alt of Petersburg, WV; one son, Shaun David Alt of Keansburg, New Jersey; four daughters, Kimberly Alt of Moorefield, WV and Rachel Alt of Cliffwood, New Jersey; Robin and Jennifer Ungeriet of Pennsylvania; twelve grandchildren; one sister, Susan Thompson of Petersburg, WV and two brothers, James Lee Alt of Nanticoke, PA and Peter Alt of Maysville, WV; several nieces and nephews.
Mr Alt's body has been cremated and there will be no services.

Fannie Virginia Aronhalt, age 90 of Mount Storm, WV went to be with her Lord on Saturday,
August 14, 2010 in Potomac Valley Hospital in Keyser, WV.
She was born January 15, 1920 in Mt. Storm,WV and was the daughter of the late Frank Bernard Borror and Helen Mae ( Aronhalt) Borror Brown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eston R. Aronhalt on May 21, 1971; infant daughter, Arbutus Aronhalt; one son, Thomas Elwood Aronhalt; one grandson, Robert "Bobby" Aronhalt; two brothers, Cecil and David Borror and two sisters, Mary Hood and Mae Harriman.
She was a member of Calvary Temple Church in Mt. Storm, WV
She is survived by one son, William Aronhalt and wife Jane of Burlington, WV
three daughters, Lucille Willis, of Mount Storm, WV with whom she lived
Dorothy Burgess and husband Donald of Maysville, WV
Deborah Wheeler and husband Mike of Berkeley Springs, WV
Fourteen grandchilden, twenty-six great-grandchildren, three great great grandchildren

Burial will be in Mt. Storm Cemetery.

Frederick Lantz

Frederick "Fred" Lantz, age 86, of Morgantown, WV passed away Monday, August 9, 2010 at Monongalia General Hospital.
He was born on November 15, 1923 in Green Bank, WV and was the son of the late Henry and Coetta (Lambert) Lantz. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and one sister.
He was an alumnus of West Virginia University and truly loved the Mountaineers. He was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho, Alpha Tau Alpha and the Student Legislature. In World War II, he served with the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific on P.T. Boat 186. He was a lifelong member of VFW Post 548 of Morgantown, WV.
He worked for many years for the Soil Conservation Service in Maine and West Virginia, retiring in 1984. After Retiring, he spent most of his summers in Maysville, WV, gardening and enjoying the company of his many friends. He attended Maysville Bible Brethren Church.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Darlene (Reel) Lantz; three daughters, Jeanette Turner and husband Craig, Darlyle Duley and husband Michael, Rulea Lantz and companion Doug Moore; nine very special grandchildren, Joshua, Morgan and Briana Turner, Zachary, Christopher and Nathan Duley, Rae-lynn Beatty, Brooke and Lucas Hall, all of Morgantown, W; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Joyce Gillispie and husband Julian of Fairfield, PA; and special dear friends, Randy and Cheryl Keplinger of Maysville, WV.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 12th) at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Lynn Durbin officiating.
Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery with Military Rites by the Petersburg VFW Post 6454, the Pendleton County Honor Guard and United States Navy Honor Guard.

Donald L. Ours

Donald Lester Ours, age 82, formerly of Petersburg, WV died Thursday, August 5, 2010 in Nella's Inc. of Crystal Springs, Elkins,WV. He had been in failing health the past year.
He was born February 28, 1928 in Petersburg, WV and was the son of the late James Garfield Ours and Amie Virginia (Feaster) Ours.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Charles Ours; and six sisters, Nellie Sheetz, Dorothy Heare, Annabelle Kimble, Geraldine Hartman, Katherine Shawhan and Evelyn Bennett.
Mr. Ours served in the United States Navy during World War II, receiving an honorable discharge in 1947. He returned to Petersburg and graduated from Petersburg High School on May 19, 1950. He became a carpenter in Frankfort, Indiana. He was a member of the Church of God. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and family gatherings.

Interment will be in South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens with Military Rites by Petersburg VFW Post 6454 and U. S. Navy Honor Guard.

ROBERT M. "BUTCH" MICHAEL
Robert Marshall "Butch" Michael, age 66, of Maysville, WV went to be with his Lord on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Western Maryland Health System, Cumberland, MD.
He was born on October 25, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland and was the son of the late Woodrow W. Michael and Irene (Kelley) Michael. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Roger W. Michael.
Butch graduated from Petersburg High School in 1961. He was a U. S. veteran of Viet Nam War serving in the 391st Trans Support Division. He was a member of the Petersburg VFW Post 6454.
He was a member of the Boilermakers Local Union 45, Richmond, Virginia and retired in 2004. He was a member of the Potomac Valley Baptist Church.

HAROLD A. BIBLE
Harold Allen Bible, age 64, of Arthur, WV died Sunday, July 25, 2010 at his home. He was born July 24, 1946 in Cumberland, MD., and was the son of the late Otha A. Bible and Ora (Bergdoll) Bible.
He was preceded in death in addition to his parents, by two sisters, Reva J. Bible and infant Bernice Fay Bible; an infant brother, Gregory Lee Bible.
Harold graduated from Petersburg High School in 1966. He was a electrician for Virginia Electric Power Company, Mt Storm, WV and retired in 2006. He was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local No. 50.
He served in the United States Army in Germany during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of Brake Church of the Brethren.

Juanita Mae Berg, age 55, of Maysville, WV passed away Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Grant Memorial Hospital.
She was born September 9, 1954 in Arthur, WV and was the daughter of Arlie T. Berg of Maysville, WV and the late Lottie V. (Nesselrodte) Berg.
In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by one brother, Rev Glenden Berg and sister-in-law, Barbara Berg.
Juanita graduated from Petersburg High School and was a caregiver. She was a member of the Petersburg Church of God.

Forrest Millard Hedrick, age 75, of Cabins, WV passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2010 in Charleston Area Medical Center, Charleston, WV.
He was born December 31, 1934 in Seneca Rocks, WV and was the son of the late James Millard Hedrick and Ruby (Wolford) Hedrick Phillips.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, James Allen Hedrick, Sr.
Mr. Hedrick was the owner and operator of Hedrick Trucking, Cabins, WV. He could truck cross country without leaving the living room.
His hobbies included playing music with family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Nascar racing and football. Our pap enjoyed entertaining company in his home by feeding everyone who stopped by and attending cookouts. He was a friend to everybody.
