      Richard Lee "Pete" Goldizen Sr.; age 80, of Maysville, WV died Friday, February 10, 2012 at his home.

     He was born May 14, 1931 in Jordan Run, WV and was a son of the late Ellen Virginia (Goldizen) Keplinger. 

     He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae (Morris) Goldizen on Nov. 13, 1995; two half brothers, Ray Jefferson "Tub" Keplinger and  infant half brother, Tommy Keplinger.

 

    Mr. Goldizen was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion Post 78.  He retired from Caterpillar in Mentor, Ohio. 

He was a member of Jordan Run Baptist Church.

 

     SURVIVING:       One son:  Richard Lee Goldizen Jr. and wife Denise of Perry, Ohio

 

     One daughter:  Sharon Ann Karnatz and husband Ken  of Willoughby, Ohio

 

Five Grandchildren:  Nicholas Goldizen and companion, Megan;  Jeremy Goldizen,  Brett Goldizen  and wife Amy; Michelle and Lauren Karnatz.

 

Two great grandchildren, Ashlynn Goldizen and  Henry Goldizen.

 

Six half sisters:  Betty Weese and Ester Malcom of Moorefield, WV, Darlene Lewis of Old Fields, WV, Rosalee Shockey of Moneta, Va, Sue Thompson of Maysville, WV and Wanda Judy of Fisher, WV.

Four half brothers:  Teddy Keplinger and Danny Keplinger of Maysville, WV, Bobby Keplinger of Arthur, WV and Sidney Keplinger of Durgon, WV.

 

 

Family will receive friends Sunday  2 - 5 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.

 

Funeral services will be Monday 11 a.m. (Feb 13th) at the Schaeffer Funeral Home  with  Rev Paul Donaldson and Pastor Rick Bergdoll officiating.

 

Interment will be in the Maysville Cemetery with Military Honors by the Petersburg VFW Post 6454.

 

Memorials may be made to Mountain Hospice, 1600 Crim Avenue, Belington, WV 26250
