Ronald Kenneth Smith, age 73, of Petersburg, WV went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 26, 2012.
He was born December 6, 1938 in Leadmine, WV and was a son of the late Kenneth and Lucille (Simmons) Smith.
He graduated from Parsons High School in 1957 and served in the United States Army from 1959 - 1963. He was manager of several H-P Stores until the mid 70's and retired from Petersburg Southern States Coop.
He was one of the founding members of The Living Hope Baptist Church in Petersburg. He was a member of the VFW Post 6454 and a member of Pythagoras Lodge No A.F. & A.M. in Parsons, WV.
SURVIVING his wife of 48 years, Glona Jean (Sites) Smith
Two daughters: Ronda J. Snow and husband Jon of Pittsburgh, PA
Melissa K. Smith of Petersburg, WV
One granddaughter: Nicole Snow
Two sisters: Frances Jester and husband Jerry of Merritt Island, FL
Jane Smith and companion Dick Earle of Elkins, WV
Family will receive friends Sunday 3 - 7 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home
Funeral service will be Monday 11 a.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Mark McAlister and Pastor Paul Donaldson officiating.
Interment will be in the Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansville, WV
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Living Hope Baptist Church, 108 Virginia Avenue, Petersburg, WV 26847 or American Cancer Society.
