PAUL E. FRANZ

Paul Edward (Pete) Franz, age 80,  of  Haughton,
LA and formerly of Maysville, WV died Saturday, December 31, 2011 Homer
Hospital in Homer, LA.

He was born March 30, 1931 in Maysville, WV and was a son of the late
Floyd M. Franz Sr. and Marie (Bauer) Franz.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie
Lee (Ray) Franz on August 21, 2011.  Also
preceded by one brother, Ernest William (Putz) Franz and an infant great
grandson, Steven Paul (Lil Pete) Wilson.

Pete was originally from Maysville, WV.
He joined the United States Air Force and served in the Korean War.  While in the Air Force he was stationed at
Barksdale Air Force Base, Bossier City Louisiana where he met his wife Jessie
of 56 years.  After they married they
returned to Maysville where they made their home with Paul working as a
mechanic at  Breathred  Chevrolet in Petersburg, WV.

Jessie became so homesick so they moved back to Louisiana hoping one day
to return to West Virginia, making Haughton, Louisiana their home.  Pete began his truck driving career for Melton
Truck lines from 1964-1985 until he had to medically retire.  With life events they never returned to West
Virginia, but Pete always called West Virginia home.
He would come home every deer season for
the Big Hunt.  Sometimes successful
sometimes not, but he enjoyed visiting with family and friends every time and
missed West Virginia so.
